I love running some long trail that I don't know.
It keeps me in the present and I usually get to the top mountain, at the peak of my destination, fresh and surprised that I'm there already.
Because I'm not wondering where I am, or when the goal will be attained.
Each breath - in the present. I reach the ridge to marvel at the views of God's creation.
I am here. So my goal is attained already.
I need to carry this more into everyday life and living, this celebration of beauty and life.

- Micah True

Urique's local Artist, Yoyo, has graciously donated his time and talent to create a beautiful mural, honoring the free spirit of El Caballo Blanco, and our true respect for the running traditions of all Raramuri People.

Greetings Mas Locos & Mas Loco Supporters!

The Government of Urique, and the families of Las Barrancas, are excited for our event, the 12th annual celebration of unconditional love, among all running people. Several local Raramuri runners have joined in daily runs with the International runners who have arrived in town, to volunteer in the upcoming week's festivities. In a spirit of harmony, we share the beautiful trails, together, as one.

The weather in Las Barrancas, call for bright, sparkling nights, starry nights, floating clouds,as the warm sunshine, radiates a powerful strength within. The temperatures range from 55-99 degrees. Father Sky awakens the day at 6:34 a.m. And, gently sets in the western sky at 6:13 p.m.

Today, we have over 220 registered International and Mexican National athletes, representing 15 Countries. We anticipate well over 450 Raramuri Brothers and Sisters, to create the magic, our largest turn out on record! To imagine that 12 years ago, Micah's Dream Team, began with 7 runners.

La Corrida De Los Caballitos, on Saturday, March 1, will bring over 400 young children into the pueblo of Urique! To those Mas Locos, who are volunteering with transportation, and race support, we graciously thank you.

The world wide donations to our Kids' race, has generated much needed school supplies, clothing, and running attire, to the Raramuri children throughout La Sierra Madre.

Norawas De Raramuri, (Friends of the Running People), has diligently raised over $25,000 in cash donations for the purchase of Vales (food vouchers), to feed the Raramuri athletes who participate in the race. Thank you to our generous friends, and Mas Locos, who've sacrified their time, and many miles, to support many families.

We encourage everyone to review our daily race week activities. Included in our daily hikes, are an opportunity to visit the loving school children in surrounding pueblos.

Thursday's activities will have a deep meaning, as we share the beautiful memory of the life and dreams of Micah True. We will share moments of reflection, where his vision began, at the Rancho of Los Alisos. Later that evening, we will meet at the organic gardens of Entre Amigos, the home of our dear friend, Keith Ramsay, for an intimate viewing of Film Director, Steling Noren's upcoming Documentary, "Run Free. The True Story of Caballo Blanco."

Each day, love continues to flow among the families of La Sierra. Trail maintenance projects have begun, many Urique homes are freshly painted. The surrounding businesses and hotels, are joyfully awaiting our arrival. The Government offices, are spectacular!
All Mas Locos will also receive a wonderful, heartfelt gift of Korima, from our friend, AKA Bill Molmen. Bill, is an accomplished ultra runner, and artist from Hawaii, who hand crafts, customized, race amulets. The amulet, is inspired by the spirit of : Hau 'oli Nui Loa - meaning "Happy, very big. WAY too Happy!"
We are truly honored to share this journey with you, truly a race in which everyone wins! May our voices sing as one. May we dance with a message of hope, peace, harmony, and love, resonating within our passionate hearts.

Kuira Ba! We are One!

Race Directors, Josue Stephens and Maria Walton
We are honored to announce that the April Issue of Trail Runner Magazine, will feature an article surrounding Micah True's legacy, and how the magic of his Message, our race, thrives among the Raramuri today.
